The Lee Ann Foundation was created to provide support through fundraising to those affected by cancer in Marshall, Ohio, Wetzel, Tyler and Belmont Counties.
When Lee Ann Schambach passed away at the age of 54, her family already had a plan in place for remembering her. The Schambach family created the Lee Ann Foundation for Victims of Cancer with the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley.
Through this foundation, Lee Ann’s legacy of love, kindness and generosity will carry on to those in her beloved community.
Lee Ann was a 1973 Magnolia High School graduate and a West Virginia University graduate. Lee Ann was a teacher for 30 years in the Wetzel County School System. Her friends describe her as a gifted teacher who was patient, organized and always kind. She also nurtured the golfing skills of both her sons, Trent and Carson, both of whom received Division I golf scholarships. Lee Ann was also a devoted fan of WVU football.
Her family and friends speak of Lee Ann’s perpetual smile, strong work ethic and strength through her valiant and courageous fight with inflammatory breast cancer.
She will be missed greatly by her family and those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
